DAY OF APPOINTMENT
ARRIVE WITH CLEAN SKIN
Come to your appointment free of deodorant, lotion, makeup, moisturizer, etc. Your skin should be clean, dry, and nothing on it. Should you need to shower day of your appointment, please do so 8 hours prior & finish your shower with cold water to help close your pores.
POST TAN OUTFIT
your post tan outfit should be long dark loose fitting clothing. No bra, leggings, jeans, or tight close toed shoes. If shorts or a dress is your only option please be sure to have something to sit on for your drive home (towel or blanket, etc.).
If you are sleeping in your tan (AKA going to bed before your initial rinse) please wear a long sleeve and pants - this will prevent the palms of your hands getting any solution on them.
AFTER CARE
BEFORE INITIAL RINSE
No sweating or getting wet during this processing time. This means no washing dishes, giving your kids a bath, no moisturizing, and if you have a pet - don’t let them lick you!
NO TOUCHING
do not touch your skin while you are processing. You don’t want the palms of your hands to get any solution on them. This is why we recommend long sleeves and pants to prevent this possibility.
INITIAL RINSE
Hop into a luke warm water shower and start to massage the bronzers off your body with your hands. Absolutely NO SOAP, NO LOOFA / WASHCLOTH during this initial rinse. Continue to massage the bronzers off your skin until the water runs clear. Do not apply any moisturizer or lotion after this rinse & PAT DRY with your towel.
FUTURE SHOWERS
Using a spray tan safe body wash (Native, CeraVe, or Cetephil are great drugstore options) - hold off on the loofa or wash cloth on your spray tan as this will exfoliate your tan away causing your skin to look patchy. ALWAYS PAT DRY with your towel and follow up with a spray tan safe moisturizer. (Hempz, ceraVe, Cetaphil, or Aveeno are great options}).
***TIP - apply moisturizer in the shower before patting dry with your towel. The water helps the moisturizer better absorb into the skin! [caution: shower may become slippery].
STAY HYDRATED
Continue to apply moisturizers morning and night to keep your skin well hydrated and help your tan fade evenly.
ACTIVITIES
Wearing tight clothing will cause friction on your skin - this can cause your tan to rub off. Applying powder to the skin can help you to create a barrier.
Avoid swimming in the ocean/pool for long periods of time, taking long hot showers, using a sauna, or excessively sweating. Your tan will not last very long doing any of these activities. If planning to swim, use a waterproof SPF lotion to protect your tan.
PREP
While we are dedicated to providing you with a flawless application, it's important to remember that the best results also depend on the preparation you do before each appointment. Proper preparation can greatly enhance the longevity and evenness of your tan, allowing it to last 7-10 days or more with a beautiful fade.
HYDRATE
be sure you are moisturizing your skin 1-2 times a day the week leading up to your tan. This can help to avoid the solution sticking to dry patches.
EXFOLIATE
exfoliate to remove your old tan / dead skin cells. Refrain from using a gel or oil based exfoliating scrub - they can leave a residue on the skin which can lead to an uneven tan. An exfoliating mitt works best!
COMPLETE ALL BEAUTY TREATMENTS PRIOR TO APPOINTMENT
